SHOW NEWS
We expect to have little to report in early 2010, but watch for us to bring out puppies in late 2010.
OTHER EVENTS
The 2010 year is one where we expect to be seen around the obedience ring with Adara and would like to try to trial Adara in tracking. The year is short, and we will have to wait to see what can be done in a single year!

Norrbottenspets (Pohjanpystykorva)
About Us
The Norrbottenspets is generally white with red markings, but colours range from blond to brown, and the black muzzle is a regular feature in the dogs. Norrbottenspets, or Pohjanpystykorva, lived with the Finnish speaking peoples in North Botnia (Norrbotten), as well in the border area of Finland and Sweden, Lappland and Kainuuland. It is suggested this has been so, as long as there has been wilderness settlements. The Norrbottenspets was thought to have become extinct following the world wars of the 20th century, but a few dogs were found in the remote villages and FCI recognized the breed in 1966. The Canadian Kennel Club recognized the Norrbottenspets in the mid 90's. There are still very few dogs, but more are being seen around the world as the beauty of this little hunting dog is recognized. They have a wonderful temperment, they are very friendly, and they love children.
We chose the name Manjusha for our Kennel name as it means "box of jewels". This seemed perfect for describing our home with our dogs.
Tammy & Rayan
Dr. Tammy Ivanco is a professor at the University of Manitoba. She teaches courses in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Animal Behaviour.
Rayan Horswill Tees is a nurse at a local hospital and has been a clinical educator at the University of Manitoba. We moved in the summer of 2008 to a large property outside of Winnipeg Manitoba. The dogs love the extra space to run and the large pond is something they love splashing about in.
Our Norrbottenspets
ADARA
Can. Ch. Koyotes Eira's Adara RN
The name "Adara" originates in hebrew and means "praised or exalted one". The Greek version of this name means "beauty". Our Princess Adara is quite beautiful.
Adara is a very happy Norrbottenspets. She is very active and likes to run and jump. She usually looks like she is smiling!
Adara is short for "Koyotes Eira's Adara". Adara was born September 19, 2005. Her father is "Ch. Valhallasun Valkie at RNB" and her mother is "Valhallasun Eira". Adara earned enough points and a few majors during the summer of 2006 to earn her Champion status with the CKC. She earned a Rally Novice title in the Spring of 2009.
Can. Ch. Koyotes Aleric at Manjusha
The name Aleric is a slight deviation from the teutonic or German name Alaric. The name means "noble ruler". We hope that Aleric can strut his stuff and live up to his name.
Aleric is short for "Koyotes Aleric at Manjusha". Aleric was born February 28, 2006. His father is "Ch. Valhallasun Grimnir at Koyote" and his mother is "Ch. Valhallasun Vorpitka at Koyote".
Aleric obtained his Canadian Championship in the summer of 2007. He does not like to show very much, and preferes to chase birds and rabbits. He is very good at tracking.
BPIS Can. Ch. Joutsenvaaran Karina
The name Karina means "dear little one" in scandinavian. She is dear to our hearts. Karina is our Finnish import. We are very grateful that we were able to bring this darling girl to Canada - Many thanks to Kristiina Mäkelä at Joutsenvaaran Kennels in Finland.
Karina is short for "Joutsenvaaran Karina". Karina was born November 16, 2006. Her mother is Joiku. Her father is Riku.
Karina has grown to be quite beautiful. On her first weekend out of showing, Karina beat specials, obtained the first BPIS for a Norrbottenspets and obtained 2 group placements, which resulted in her obtaining her Canadian championship at 6 months and 5 days. Special thanks to Michelle Gaudet who handles Karina occassionally.
Can. Ch. Manjusha's Zaki
Manjusha's Zaki was born to Adara and Aleric on February 23, 2008. Zaki obtained his Canadian Championship in Balgonie Saskatchewan in the fall of 2009.
Zaki means "pure and chaste".
