Ms. Brittany opened Brittany's School of Dance in 1997 with only 54 students. Since then, BSOD has grown to 350+ students in a 4,800 sq. ft. facility! We are so excited to be Celebrating our 15th Year of Dance Education this year! We have many fun and exciting things planned this year in honor of our Celebration! We are passionate about teaching dance and dedicated to providing you with the best customer service experience. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will instruct you in the fine art of dance!

TAP, JAZZ, BALLET, LYRICAL, POINTE, HIP HOP, ADULT TAP/JAZZ/HIP HOP, CONTEMPORARY, BALLET TECHNIQUE, LEAPS AND TURNS, & GYM
Ms. Brittany has thirty-one years of dance experience. She has fourteen years of teaching experience, and is an active member of Dance Masters of America and Dixie Dance Masters. Ms. Brittany is certified by test to teach. You must first pass written, demonstration, and oral examinations in order to be certified to teach dance. You are also required to have ten hours per year of continuing dance education with Dance Masters of America. In addition to this, Ms. Brittany takes advantage of special training offered at conventions, seminars, and dance workshops in order to bring her students the latest in techniques and teaching materials. As in any profession, continuing study is essential to maintain high standards. Ms. Brittany and several of her students have attended dance conventions in Baton Rouge, Biloxi, MS., Mobile, AL., & Myrtle Beach, SC. She has won a choreography award from International Dance Challenge for her competition routine "You", and most recently for her piece "Strings" at Hollywood Vibe Nationals in Orlando, FL.
Ms. Brittany is also a former staff member of American All-Star Dance/Drill Team Camp, in which she taught many dance teams throughout the United States. She has also traveled to Paris, France to perform in EuroDisney, and has performed at Super Bowls XXIX and XXX.
Ms. Brittany and her husband Brandon have a beautiful baby girl, Eden Parker, who was born last September.
Miss Lacie is a nine-year member of our staff. She has twenty-six years of dance experience, and has trained at Brittany's School of Dance since we opened in 1997. Miss Lacie teaches hip hop, tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical. Recently, Miss Lacie won a choreography award for her high energy hip hop routine called "Ballet Class"! Her hip hop routine "LSU" won the prestigious award "Battle of the Stars" at Hollywood Vibe's National finals in Orlando, FL. She is a former cheerleader, and choreographs for several area cheerleading squads of whom have won numerous awards. Miss Lacie is also our office assistant. She and her husband Jordy welcomed a precious baby girl, Annalee Noel, in May!
The Facility:
Brittany's School of Dance is 4,800 square feet!
Two large dance rooms & smaller room for younger classes:
All dance rooms have Neo-Shok flooring systems (which give to save dancers bodies), and are equipped with wall to wall mirrors, and sound system.
Studios A & B are equipped with barres & water fountains. We also have a customer service counter, spacious waiting area, dressing room, and over 30 parking spaces.
Studio A: 2,000 sq. ft.
Studio B: 1,500 sq. ft.
Studio C : for smaller classes
We offer classes in:
Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Ballet Technique, Leaps and Turns, Pointe, Adult Jazz/Tap/Hip Hop, and Gym!
Each year Brittany's School of Dance has a fabulous year-end
recital at the Baton Rouge River Center Performing Arts
Theatre! The recital is a wonderful opportunity for students to demonstrate
the skills they learn throughout the dance year, and to develop
self confidence by participating in the performance
experience. Our 2012 recitals will be held on
Saturday, April 28!
