BIO Asante Jones hails from Cleveland, OH. He began pursuing an interest in acting at age 13 by portraying Romeo in his eighth grade production of Romeo and Juliet. He invested his early adult years at Karamu House Theater in Cleveland and eventually went on tour with Shelly Garrett's Beauty Shop, Part II. This would be the first of FOUR, 60 city tours traversing the country for two and a half years. While on tour with Beauty Shop, Part II, his roommate was future Academy Award Nominee, Michael Clarke Duncan.Tired of living out of suitcases, Asante decided to make the all important relocation to Los Angeles. Asante's first Primetime Network booking came in the final season of Diagnosis Murder on CBS. He had one line and was out of focus in the background, but he had finally broken into the business as a Principal actor. Following this brief Co-Star he went on to achieve some more notable Guest Starring roles on JAG and NCIS. By this point the flood gates had opened and Asante was appearing on an average of SIX Primetime Network TV Shows every year.Since becoming a full time actor, deriving his soul source of income in that manner, he has appeared on over 40 TV shows such as, According To Jim, Malcolm in the Middle, Arrested Development, Desperate Housewives and Dexter to name a very few.
