Dealers vs. Independent Repair Shops:
- At some point, every car owner struggles over the question; should you take your car to a dealer or independent shop for routine maintenance and repairs?
Some Facts you should know:
-Independent shops are smaller and less expensive than dealerships.
- We also rely on word-of-mouth recommendations and customer referrals for most of our business. This is why we place great importance on customer service and satisfaction.
- Our Independent repair shop will know just as much about a technical service bulletin to assist technicians in diagnosing and repairing problems in cars, trucks, sport uitility vehicles, etc.
- Our shop also has technicians that are certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. ASE certified mechanices must pass comprehensive exams and must be re-certified every five years.
Your Guide to cost effective Ownership & Maintenance
ALIGNMENT:
- Misalignments of wheels in the front or rear can cause uneven and rapid tread wear. Have your alignment checked periodically at least twice a year, or whenever you have an indication of trouble such as “pulling” or vibration.
- Also have tire balance checked periodically. An unbalanced tire & wheel assembly may result in irregular wear.
ROTATION:
- To ensure you’re utilizing the full life of your tires it is best to have the tires rotated approximately every 4,000-5,000 miles.
TREAD:
- Tires must be replaced when the tread is worn down to 1/16 of an inch to prevent skidding and hydroplaning.
Maintenance:
Regular maintenance checks and simple service can greatly reduce the cost of car ownership.
- For maximum fuel efficiency and cleaner air, keep your engine in tune.
- For safe driving, keep brakes, steering and suspension systems in top condition.
- Have proper working lights, windshield wipers, and washers.
