Class 8 have looked at several paintings by war artist Paul Nash and discussed how they made us feel. We used adjectives like: frightened, sad, angry, depressed and hopeless. Everyone felt relieved that they have not had to fight in a war. We studied Paul Nash's famous painting 'Dead Sea' to help us create our own collage.
We used ripped soliders uniforms to create the beach. Smoke covers the sky. The Moon is not sure whether to feel hopeful or hopeless. The land in the background is stained with blood. We used the wings of World War Two planes to create the waves of the Dead Sea.
Class Eight's Topic is Polar Lands. We have learnt about the March of the Emperor Penguins, who live in the coldest plane on Earth: Antarctica.
For the class topic of World War Two, Class Eight consructed some British Supermarine Spitfires and hung them from the ceiling as though they are having an aerial dogfight. They also created some drawings of the planes used in World War Two.
This photograph of Class 8 was taken at half-time during the Sale Sharks vs Bath game, which they had the opportunity to watch on Friday 11th February 2011.
Class 8 have been learning all about the Rainforest. They have been looking after some of their very own plants and keeping them healthy. From paper they created small animals which would live in the forest.
Why not have a look at the photos and see which animals you can spot? (To have a closer look at a photo just click on it to enlarge it).
