On Saturday, 26th Novemeber 1pm-4pm, Acacias Community Primary School will open its doors to the general public, past and present pupils, parents and teachers to say a final fond farewell to the old school building. The school celebrated its centenary in 2008 and is due to move to its new premises, just further up the same site, in February next year. Acacias has managed to maintain its high standards over the years and has recently received an 'Outstanding' rating by Ofsted (April 2011). This is a credit to the high standard of teaching and commitment of staff within the school, the efforts of the children along wih the support of parents. The 'old' Acacias school in its current building will be fondly remembered and we hope that you will be able to join in our celebrations.
Activities will include a quiz trail, a drama performance, face painting, craft areas and a raffle. Displays will include the Original Acacias school log book, school admissions book and old school photos and memories collected over the years. There will be an opportunity to purchase various school memorabilia and keepsakes and have a last look around the classrooms. Refreshments will be available.
