ABOUT AARON
Aaron was born on May 11th 1970 in a large town in the South of England. Currently residing in Brisbane, Australia, Aaron illustrates for a living- anything from magazine illustrations, children's books, packaging art, tutorials and fine art. Aaron also teaches drawing and painting.
INSPIRATION
Inspired by the natural world and by artists such as the Pre-Raphalites (and those who came after (most notably John Waterhouse and Frederick Leighton), Arthur Rackham and the modern day greats-Charles Vess, Michael Kaluta, Alan Lee, David Wyatt and Chris Riddell.
MEDIUMS USED
Medium-wise, Aaron is self taught and uses whatever is necessary to get the job done. using pen and ink, watercolours, gouache, acrylics, oils and digital media (photoshop and Painter), Aaron also works in a fairly wide variety of styles, all with the same signature Pocock attention to detail.
Aaron has illustrated many publications for books and magazines and has also produced art for advertising and graphic design agencies, his clients include: Blake Education, Murdoch Books,Minerva Press, Koala Books, Pickawoowoo Children's Books, Little Steps, Stieven Taylor and Associates, Imagine Publishing, West Coast Print and Promotions, Graphics above, Vivid Publishing, WOW press, Self-Esteem Co.
