MISSION

Mission Statement

In support of Ann Arbor Public School’s (AAPS) Strategic Plan, the Arab American Parent Support Group strives to:

Promote the success of all students in AAPS with particular emphasis on students of Arab and Muslim descent;

Serve as a liaison between AAPS and Arab and Muslim students and their families;

Create an environment based on respect and appreciation for all diverse cultures within and beyond the school community, with attention to the unique value of every person;

Serve as a resource for teachers, staff, students, and parents to enhance sensitivity, awareness, knowledge and understanding about Arab and Muslim Americans;

Provide a forum for awareness-raising discussions.

AAPSG meets the second Sunday of the month. The first ten minutes of each meeting are an open forum for visitors.
