Sexy AND Talented: Punk Rock's Newest Goddess, The Fabulous Miss Wendy
This twenty-two -year-old bursts onto the scene with a "fabulous" self-titled debut album
Hollywood, CA, October 10 2009-Watch out, Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani-there's a new punk rock princess in town, and her name is The Fabulous Miss Wendy. And while Revolver magazine called her "the sexiest rock star ever," the real news is the talent for singing, songwriting and guitar she brings to her catchy, addictive brand of punk-rock-pop with an edge.
Inspired by old-school punk acts like the Misfits, The Dead Kennedys, and The Ramones, Los Angeles-native Wendy picked up a guitar at the age of ten. A few years later, she beat out hundreds of other girls to nab the lead spot in a Nickelodeon all-girl rock band, where she met future TFMW bassist/keyboardist Claire Elizabeth. After finishing high school, The Fabulous Miss Wendy really got busy: she attended the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, traveled to Iraq to play for U.S. troops, made it to third place in the U.S. "World Battle of the Bands" Competition, and won a VH1 Recommended Artist Award-and, of course, wrote and recorded all ten tracks of her debut album.
Wendy describes her self-titled debut as a "coming of age story" about a young girl's journey through adolescence and troubled relationships. The sound is all sassy, punky fun, with a splash of Seattle grunge rock, while the lyrics, according to SugarBuzz magazine, "work like screenplays of misguided love, sex and anger and fun."
The Fabulous Miss Wendy's first album was produced by Devo's Jerry Casale and features NIN, Weezer and A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese. For her live performances, Wendy needed backup musicians of equal caliber, so she called on fellow Nickelodeon band member Claire Elizabeth to play bass. Wendy's manager, former A&R guru of Geffen Records Tom Zutaut, recruited Sean Winchester on drums, and her mentor/ supporter, L.A. music icon Kim Fowley, suggested rhythm guitarist Gretel . With this talented trio behind her, Wendy puts her lead guitar and vocal talent on display for shows at famed L.A. venues like The Whisky, The Dragonfly and The Keyclub.
In addition to her kickass live performances, The Fab Miss Wendy has also grabbed the attention of radio and TV stations and rock critics. Famed L.A. radio stations KROQ and Indie 103.1, as well as The Monkey in Seattle and Sirius Satellite Radio, have all spun Wendy's tunes. Six of the debut album's tracks have been played on VH1 Shows, and TFMW also performed on B In Tune TV to a national audience of more than 200 million households. And Miss Wendy's received shout-outs in Revolver, LA Weekly, Lost Anarchy Magazine, Fringe Magazine, NME, Rock City News, and CDBaby (they're the ones who warned Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani to "start running immediately").

"The Fabulous Miss Wendy is the sexiest rock star ever!"- Revolver Magazine
"The Fabulous Miss Wendy's new 10 song record does not disappoint. It tastefully mixes rock, hip-hop, and throws in some flares of straight furious punk rock. Johnny Burke and Josh Freese pull off a seamless back bone of rhythm that is very refreshing and easy to bob your head to. The consistant production throughout the record also makes it sound very radio ready and the 2-3 minute tracks keep you wanting more. It's easy to over-produce or to force a sound out of a band and they have avoided that completley. Cheers!"- Lost Anarchy Magazine
"The Fabulous Miss Wendy is the new goddess of punk rock. Courtney Love and Gwen Steffani had better start running immediately."- CDBaby
"The Fabulous Miss Wendy is an over-the-top, decadent, in-your-face, rocking chick!"- Fringe Magazine
"The Fabulous Miss Wendy wailed on her Handle guitar during NAMM 2009 at the XOX Audio Tools stand. Check out the incredible talent out of this naughty, sexy, rocking and cute little girl!"-NME News

TFMW on TVhe 6-28-09
The band made it's debut appearence on network television this weekend, on B In Tune TV!!!! We would like to thank Beta Records for having us in the studio. Text "Wendy" to 88500 to get a free copy of the performance:)
TFMW hail from Hollywood, California where they have been described by journalists and fans a like as a kick-ass energetic modem Nirvana fronted by a girl. Wendy has been called a young female Marc Bolan with the intensity of Patti Smith while singing and playing her guitar during live performances with her four-piece band.
Wendy (vocalist, lead guitarist, and songwriter), a guitar shredder for the last 10 years, cut her teeth by learning Van Halen licks at the age of 11. Her songs are the perfect mix of powerful punk, with a dash of pop essence, and a hard shot of Seattle grunge rock and roll.
The band also includes Sean Winchester on drums, Brian Beckman on bass, and Claire Elizabeth on rhythm guitar and backing vocals.
The songs on my debut album are a coming of age story about a young girls journey from adolescence into early womanhood. The starts from the moment you began to like boys, first fumbling relationships, low self-esteem, being treated like shit; to retaliation by treating others like shit until you realize that you deserve better. The mind games, angst, hunger, hurt, and hunt for sex between boys, girls, men, and women; The good, the bad, and the ugly, its all there. The album ends with the discovery of the difference between love and hate. Learning as a young woman I deserve better, and there are some Call me Fabulous things about me and my desire to have better relationships from this point on. As this album ends, I hope to continue the journey and post the real life results on my next album TFMW 2.0.
Los Angeles music icon Kim Fowely (who discovered The Runaways) is a big supporter of TFMW and has put up video snippets filmed with Wendy over the last two years on YouTube.
TFMW has made two videos from their debut album that has already been added to MTV Networks Logo Channel. Six of the songs from her forthcoming debut album have already been heard on VH1 shows, including reality TV show Tough Love, where both I Like Boys and Mistress. Recently the band performed on B In Tune TV, a show that appeared in over 200 million households.
KROQ Indie 103.2, The Monkey in Seattle, and Sirius Satellite Radio has aired songs from the forthcoming album. She has also been featured in the new artist section of Revolver magazine. TFMWs debut album was produced by Devo co-founder Jerry Casale. The album will be released this fall supported by Rocket Science.
