If you miss the show go to theDisabilty Beat webpageto download the podcast.-October 21, 2009 - Stephen won the $25,000 Grand Prize at the 2009 Collegiate Inventors Competition for his invention: the Drop Point.The award ceremony was held at the Museum of Science and Industry and was hosted by the National Inventors Hall of Fame and sponsored by the US Patent and Trademark Office and Abbott Laboratories. Article Here.-June 28, 2008 - Stephen was flown to Boston to speak on inventions at the Boston Museum of Science for MIT's annual EurekaFest.-June 2008 - Stephen obtains his first patent pending on the Drop Point system.-January 2008 - Stephen places in the final five for the Lemelson - Illinois Student Prize for his work with developing a tool for those with quadriplegia. He is a finalist for the $30,000 prize for innovations. Article Here.-January 2008 - Stephen becomes a James Scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.-May 2007 - Stephen wins a Dean's Choice Award on a piece in the University of Illinois Freshman Exhibition. PROFILE

Background:I am a Senior in Industrial Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Originally, I am from a northwest suburb of Chicago, Rolling Meadows. I thoroughly enjoy traveling, which I've had the ability to do often while studying in Florence my junior year. Since traveling more, I have become very interested in photography, but my core artistic media would have to be drawing. I've been drawing religiously since I was quite young. I've always enjoyed Graphic Design growing up, but I fell in love with Industrial Design in college. I have specialized on products for those with disabilities the past three years.
