Jason Barradell, Bb Flat Bass
I started to learn to play cornet at the age of seven at the Salvation Army. Then as I grew my lips got to big for the cornet and I moved onto euphonium and later baritone. At the age of ten I played in the Salvation Army band at Allenton where I was back on euphonium, then back to baritone and then back to euphonium. At eighteen I left the Salvation Army and joined a carnival band called the Derby Aires where I played the bass part but on euphonium.
After that I joined the Long Eaton Silver Prize Band where I started to play the Bb flat bass then a few years later I joined Rolls Royce Derby and played bass for them. I now contest with Rolls Royce and also do concerts with Long Eaton.
I like using computers and listening to music. I have a fiancé called Elizabeth and I enjoy singing on karaoke. I also help Rolls Royce Training Band out on Bb flat bass.
