5th Annual Pole Vault Explosion
The Pole Vault Explosion (PVX) is an energetic, day long event where vaulters can showcase their talent in front of hundreds of cheering fans. The event takes place at the St. Charles Riverfest, in Historic St. Charles along the beautiful Missouri River. For athletes, it's an opportunity to compete and meet other pole vaulters. For spectators, it's just plain fun to watch. Bring your family and friends and make a day out of it! In addition to the PVX competition, there will be live music, delicious food, amusement rides and a spectacular fireworks display.PVX has drawn accomplished athletes ranging from high school to elite levels. Athletes like Jeff Hartwig, former American Record Holder and Kellie Suttle, 2000 & 2004 Olympian, have competed in the event. Saint Charles is rich in history, brimming with American frontier adventure and proud of its French and German cultural heritage.
If you want to explore more than the Riverfront Festival and the PoleVault Explosion, Historic Main Street is just a short walk from the event. Ten blocks of shops and restaurants provide visitors more than 200 places to explore.

Competition Area is positioned between the Lewis and Clark Statue and the Historic Train Depot near the Katy Trail.
Pole Drop-Off:
There will be a pole drop-off and pick up area on Riverside Drive across from the pole vault area marked with signs. Please note: Main street at Boonslick will closed from 9am until noon due to the parade. If you're vaulting in a morning session please plan accordingly.

Take exit 229 for 5th St
Turn left at S 5th St
Right at Boonslick Rd
Continue on S Riverside Dr.
Turn left to stay on S Riverside Dr

Registration includes an event T-shirt. Red T-shirts will be for provided for athletes registering after June 28th.
T-shirt size availability not guaranteed.
*Please Note: All vaulters must be a USATF member prior to competing. Memberships can be obtained through the USATF web link. http://www.usatf.org/membership.
PVX Registration Fees:
$45.00 on event day (PVX T-shirt availability not guaranteed)
Please arrive at 8am to check-in for registration if you have not previously registered before event day.
You will be asked for your USATF membership number. If you don't have a USATF membership, you can register for a membership when registering. USATF membership fees are not included in the PVX registration fee.

You will receive a message that you are registered and will be directed to PayPal for online payment. If you choose not to pay online and prefer to pay at the event you are still registered.

Elite Competition Information
The Elite Group will be a combined field of both men and women.
Men and women will be competing for a total of over $4,000 in prize money.
Warm up will begin for the elite competition around 5:00 pm.
There will be a 4 foot differential between the men and womens heights.

Weather is clearing but the vault group schedules had to be adjusted.
The first vault groups began vaulting around 1pm. The groups following
have been moved back accordingly.
