to our class webpage
Our first quarter is underway and I am enjoying our first graders. They have settled in nicely. Thank you at home for sending them ready to learn each day.
Please look for the homework packet each Monday. It will have the assignments for the week. The math homework will go home after we do each lesson. Take Home Readers are also part of homework that goes home every night Monday through Thursday.
The blue folder should be returned every school day. Please have your child put the math homework in the folder as well as their Take Home Reader. The composition notebook for written homework will only come home on the nights when there is written homework.
I am available by email through this site or through school email. Thank you for all you do for the children.

ABOUT ME
I've lived in Virginia Beach for 11 years now. I taught one year of science in a middle school and 7 years of 5th grade before moving to 1st grade 2 years ago. This is my 3rd year of teaching 1st grade at the beach. Early in my teaching career I taught Kindergarten (3 years), 4th grade (1 year) and then 5th grade (4 years) in the country in Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay. I even taught French in high school for 5 months substituting for the teacher who was battling cancer.
I am the mom of 4 sons. They are all grown now with jobs of their own...earning more than mom!
I'm married to a great guy who is a musician. He plays guitar and has his own band. We have music in common as I also play guitar.
Some of my interests include music, reading, languages, photography and computers.
