Registration is now open for the 2010 Miss Black Michigan USA Pageant!!! If you or someone you know would like to compete in the scholarship pageant APPLY NOW! Girls between the ages of 4-8 are welcomed to apply for the Little Miss Black Michigan Pageant which will be held in March! The Little Miss Black Michigan deadline for applying is quickly approaching so enter your daughter, cousin, sister or friend today! Girls between the ages of 9-12 are highly encouraged to enter the Junior Miss Black Michigan USA Pageant Both the Little and Junior Miss Black Michigan pageants will be held simultaneously, So it is vital that you apply now!

The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit corporation, recognized under the 501(c)3 code of the Internal Revenue Service. It is the mission of the Miss Black USA Pageant to provide educational opportunities to outstanding young women of color and to develop the "whole woman mind, body, and spirit.
Scholarship
Miss Black USA Pageant celebrates scholastic achievement and believes that education is the key to lifelong success and empowerment. The Miss Black USA Pageant promotes education and leadership by providing scholarships opportunities to its winners.
Community Service
The Miss Black USA Pageant is a community driven organization and is committed to addressing health and education, two leading social issues in the African American community. The winners of the official "Miss Black USA" state pageants will use her civic platform to promote awareness of these issues during her reign

The Miss Black Michigan Pageant is an immediate affiliate of the Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation Inc. The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation in the state of Maryland, recognized under the 501(c)3 code of the Internal Revenue Service. The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., was founded in 1986 by Karen Arrington.
The Mission of the Miss Black USA Organization is to provide educational opportunities to outstanding women of color and to develop the whole woman, mind, body and spirit.
The Miss Black USA Pageant as well as the Miss Black Michigan USA Pageant is a community service driven organization. Both are committed to addressing heath and education, two leading social issues in the African American community. The winner of the Miss Black Michigan USA will use her civic platform to promote awareness of these issues during her reign.

Eligilibity
Must Submit a completed application with non refundable $50 Registration Fee
Must provide headshot or 3/4 photo via email or with application
Must be a resident, student or employee of the state of Michigan during the year of competition.
Must be between the ages of 14-26 year old
Must be single never married.
Must have a GPA of at least a 2.25( college and High school delegates)
Must delegate is responsible for a $250 Entry Fee and a Ad Page in the program booklet.--- Payment options are available if need.
Must not have represented the state of Michigan in a prior MBUSA Pageant
There will be two separate competitions. One competition for the ages of 14-18 years of age, and 19-26 years of age. Both age groups will be judged on 5 different areas of competition.
Preliminary Competition will be scored as follows:
Personal Interview -25%
On-Stage Questions & Answer- 15%
Formal Gown-20%
Fitness-15%
Talent-30%
The Final Night/ Top 15 will be scored as follows
On-Stage Question & Answer 35%
Top 5 will be announced , including 4 runners-up and the
New Miss Black Michigan USA

Christina DeVos is a native of Grand Rapids, MI where she graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School and Calvin College. She holds a bachelors of arts in interdisciplinary studies: mass media communications, political science and English, with an emphasis in journalism. Since graduating, she has been preparing to return to school to pursue a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, with the hope of studying the human brain's relationship to exercise, and the brain's power and strength, verses physical limitations.
Christina's passion is running marathons, and she currently trains and challenges individuals to run their first 26.2 mile race through mental exercises that complement daily physical training. Her hero is Dean Karnazes, an ultramarathoner, who has completed a 350 mile race, and holds the world's record for running the longest distance without stopping. Christina lives by the laws of perseverance, love, forgiveness, and hope. Through these, she finds strength for each day and has been able to inspire students across Michigan by regularly speaking in schools, at community events, and through participation in mentoring programs. She believes nothing is more important than taking time to make a difference, and that is why she commits several hours each week to community service.
Christina is a member of several Michigan community organizations and boards. Her work experience includes television, radio, and print news and production; public relations, political campaign management, marketing and sales management, modeling, acting, and motivational speaking.

India Woods (Princess, Jr. Miss Black Michigan 2010)
India Woods is a native of Willis, MI. She is 10 years old and in the 5th grade at a school know for its challenging academic program. Despite this, India manages to achieve and maintain a staight A average, placing her among the top performers in her class. Her driven nature is demonstrated in the many extracurricular activities in which excels and participates. She believes in the importance of athletics to keep students healthy and strong. That is why she is a cheerleader, a starting vollyball player, and swimmer!
India also has a natural love and talent for music. She has been playing the violin since she was five years old and a year ago started playing the flute. In her spare time, India enjoys cooking, fashion, and taking time to be kind and loving to smaller children. When she grows up, India would like to be a fashion designer.
