Behind The Lens
I have always loved costumes and clothing from different eras. I started in photography by dressing up friends (in vintage ballgowns, formal wear, or other creative outfits), doing their hair and make-up, and taking photographs in unlikely places, such as in a tree or at a playground. Whimsical. Dramatic. Fun. That's one aspect of my photographic personality.
I also like natural light and capturing spontaneous moments with unguarded expressions. Family members interacting with one another. A dancer lost in music and movement, radiating joy. Awed
by the beauty of nature and treasures all around. Pictures filled with emotions and meaning. That is my purpose in photography.
"She sparkles" and "He rocks" are the inspirational themes for my portrait photography. Everyone has that unique something that radiates from within. I want my photographs to capture that - the unfolding story of an individual. Sometimes in color. Sometimes in black & white.
