4th Version: 'Crank It Up'
The Album
Guilty Pleasure is the second studio album released by Ashley Tisdale via Warner Bros. Records. It was originally scheduled for a worldwide release on June 16, 2009 but Warner decided to push back the album in North America to July 28.
Tisdale described the album as a way to show to the world she has grown up. She also stated that these songs have a message and a story that anyone can relate to. Tisdale stated the album was titled Guilty Pleasure because of her own guilty pleasures such as Coffee Bean and reading Perez Hilton's blog. Unlike her first album, Headstrong, Tisdale hopes to show off her "edgier" side with more mature songs, leaving behind the pop and R&B songs.
The lead single off the album is the track "It's Alright, It's OK". It was released on April 14, 2009 in the United States in both airplay and digital formats. "I love break-up songs," Tisdale admits during the press release of the single. She described the song as a message she wanted to get across the other people.
The album was listed as the 7th Best Album of 2009 by Billboard's readers, as well the 7th Best Album of the Decade (2000-2009).

Lyrical Content
Tisdale gave the first details about Guilty Pleasure, including its name, in a interview for April 2009 edition of "Cosmopolitan Magazine". She talked about some of the new tracks. Tisdale stated the track "Hot Mess" is "about hanging out with a motorcycle bad boy that makes life more interesting" and the track "How Do You Love Someone" is "about a girl who deals with the split of her parents"
Tisdale described "What If" as the most personal track of the album and said the song "is about when you’re in a relationship and you say 'If I really needed you, would you actually be there?’". About the lead single "It's Alright, It's OK", she said that the song is a spunky break-up anthem about being single and in control of your life for the first time.— "I love break-up songs," said Tisdale. She described the song as a message she wanted to get across the other girls.
She co-wrote several tracks on this album, including "Acting Out", "Overrated", "Me Without You" and "What If", which she co-wrote with American Idol's judge Kara DioGuardi.
