BEHIND THE LENS
Born 1978 in Gaia, Portugal, Liliana Pinho had her first contact with photography, at young age, due to her father. In high school she embraced photography even deeper having her first analogue and dark room experiences with the photographer José Melim. Along with art classes she explores and takes her first steps in the exhibition and contest world. Additionally to the photography passion from her dad she also absorbs her mother’s fashion styling love and expertise. And at the age of thirteen she enters the first of many fashion styling competitions. The positive critics on jury's behalf gave her a cheering enthusiasm to keep on with this creative side of her. Her mother decides she should also keep on ameliorating her vocals and takes her out of the local coral group and sends her to classic lyric lessons. At seventeen she decides to dive in the poetic art world, inspired by the great masters she writes a horror tale for a contest held by Jornal de Noticias winning a special honorary mention. Uncertain what path to follow after high school, she ends out in a small 3D course which lead her to work for a jewellery school. With it came the need of increasing knowledge in the area due to customers demand, so she decides to take a master degree. And still keeping up with her fashion styling love, she opens her first shop. The urge of improving her photos kept her doing workshops and exhibits. At present she’s exploring her musical side with Punagra and starting her AVF degree.
