BIOGRAPHY
Although she now calls Las Vegas home, this Amerasian songstress was born and raised in Hawaii. She has captivated audiences with her voice since the tender age of three years old. Lady Reiko started her music career by singing in church choirs and for parties and events. While in high school, she was part of the Hawaii Opera Youth Chorus, and the Hawaii All State High School Honor Choir. She represented her high school in Hawaii's own talent competition "Brown Bags to Stardom" in 1994.
In 1999, Lady Reiko, a dedicated songwriter, moved to Las Vegas to further her musical career. She signed a contract with an indie record label called "ButtaPhunk International" where she proceeded to record her album "Come with me". While with buttaPhunk, Reiko toured Las Vegas, performing at various venues and locations. Reiko has also recorded with an indie record label based out of Atlanta. Dreamsong Records and Double Edge productions are responsible for helping Reiko produce her massive EP; MOVE.
In 2000, Reiko met up with an island/reggae band called Da Blend. She served as their only female vocalist, singing both lead and background parts. Da Blend exposed Reiko to reggae music and reminded her of her roots. Da Blend rocked the Las Vegas local music scene for 4 years. They played at local venues such as the House of Blues (opened for Jake Shimabukuro & Colon), The Frontier Hotel & Tropics Bar & Grill, Moon Doggies and at various corporate, public and private events.
In 2004 Da Blend regrouped and renamed their band "Liquid Roots." They were booked as the house band at The Saloon in Neonopolis in Las Vegas from 2004-2006. There she obtained her stage name; Lady Reiko. Liquid Roots next performed every Friday night (with Lady Reiko) _ the Fiesta Rancho Casino in Club Tequila from 2006-2008.
In early 2007, Lady Reiko formed a new project designed to spread a message of peace, love and unity through original music, and to raise awareness of the needs of humanity and the world. She prayed for like-minded, talented musicians with the same mission to join her new project. She found them throughout Las Vegas. They decided to call themselves "The Sin City Prophets." Lady Reiko parted ways with Liquid Roots in early 2009 to focus solely on her new project and mission of peace with her new band.
Lady Reiko is currently working on her first solo reggae project with Prophet Records. The upcoming album is due to launch in the spring of 2010.
