A SELECTION OF THE DAY'S WORKSHOPS
Click on the presenters' names for their bios.
Get ready to get your communication in shape! Join us for a fun, interactive workshop to boost your ability to connect with friends, partners/spouses and co-workers. We will be looking at body language, learning about the big four communication pitfalls, and more.
Learn how to present your image and credentials in your communications. This session will provide you with a variety of packaging ideas you will need to promote YOU - your product in the marketplace.
For most of us, life doesn't turn out the way we envisioned. Sometimes the adjustments needed are minor, sometimes major. How can we cope and grow when challenges seem overwhelming?
You are embarking on your journey and the promise of a new career opportunity lights the way. Find out where the best-thought-out market strategies run aground. We will help you to implement a strategy and a tactical action plan to chart from the beginning to the end of your voyage.
This breakout session will be an interactive discussion of the basics of Feng Shui, an ancient art form that teaches you how to maximize your environment to enhance well-being. There are many easy 'fixes' for your home, office or even your desk to help you in many areas of your life. If you bring with you a rough drawing of the outline of your home and the rooms in it, that will help you get the most out of this session.
Making the most of Happenstance in Your Life and Career
(based on the book by John D. Krumboltz and Al S. Levin,
Impact Publishing, Atascadero, California, 2004)
A chance meeting, a broken appointment, a fill-in job, a newly discovered hobby - all of these are the kinds of occurrences that can lead to unexpected life directions and career choices. Learn to recognize the opportunities the unplanned events present and to make the most of happenstance.
This participatory session will be an introduction to how yoga can help relieve stress in our lives. At the physical level, yoga improves flexibility, strength, stamina and posture. Psychologically, yoga can reduce depression and anxiety and improve both concentration and memory.
Learn how to create healthy and fast meals that don't cost you a lot. Nutritionist Annie Hoese will give you ideas your whole family will love.
