I just had the oppourtunity to see a facebook from some friends that I havn't seen for some years. I would like to say that the years have been kind, but I'm suppose to tell the truth. Have you ever noticed how time really changes things? How everything kinda moves south? And then there is that gray hair or in some cases no hair. And then there is hair that grows were it shouldn't. Oh well, I know no one likes to talk about it but we are all getting older. And there is a reason for that. The little phrase I use is "the curse is working". That usually brings a puzzled look from people. But from those that are familiar with the Bible they understand perfectly.
You see when Adam and Eve sinned against God they had a curse placed upon them as well as all of creation. The curse is that we are all dying. Slowly, but surely, we are all marching to the grave. Now that's the bad news. The good news is for the christian it's not the end. As christians we may taste of death, that is if Jesus doesn't return in our life time, but for us, death is the begining of life.
I recall the words of D.L. Moody who said something like " someday you will read in the paper where Moody died and when you do ,don't believe a word of it. I'll be more alive then than I am now". The reason he could say that ,as all christians, is that they have received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Jesus came into this world to take upon himself the sin of this world. He suffered and died to pay for our sins. If a person will realize they need Him and believe that He died and rose again for them, they can have the assurance of eternal life. All they have to do is call on him in sincere prayer. You may say something like Lord I know I'm a sinner and I am sorry for my sins. I believe that you died and rose again please save me! I want to go to heaven someday. If you pray that and mean it, He will not only save you ,but give you life eternal. Now It won't do a thing for your age and the way you have changed over the years ,but then your not home yet!
Until next time God bless Pastor Curry!
