Music is located at the heart of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and is a partner with the many ministries of our church. Vigorous hymn singing is a tradition within the congregation, and worshipers are uplifted by the variety of music offerings that our musicians bring.
Knowing that music is a powerful tool in making known the wide-embracing love of God, our musicians work diligently throughout the year to provide worship leadership.
Why not consider becoming a member of our music family? Our music ministry offers you a chance to let music be a part of your gift to God. We have a wide variety of musical opportunities for children, youth and adults. Each one of these ministry groups share the common goal of reaching others for Christ while deepening their personal relationship with God.

KIDS CLUB CHOIR - A choir for two through four year olds which meets each Wednesday evening during our mid-week program called GLOW.
GLOW CHILDREN'S CHOIR - A choir for children Kindergarten through 6th grade which meets at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday evenings as a part of our mid-week program called GLOW. This choir sings, plays tone chimes and rhythm instruments, and provides special music for worship periodically.
CHILDREN'S HANDBELL CHOIR - A handbell choir for children Kindergarten through the sixth grade. This choir will resume rehearsals this fall on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m.
MUSIC ADVENTURE WEEK - A week-long music adventure for children Kindergarten through sixth grade. This group meets from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, usually the second week of July. During the week, children are introduced to music reading, singing, playing musical games, learning to play the recorder, boomwackers and melody bells.
REJOICE ADULT HANDBELL CHOIR - Currently this group of adults meets bi-weekly in the fall and spring to play handbells. This choir plays for Christmas and Easter and at other special times of the year.
CHANCEL CHOIR - This is an inter-generational group who enjoys singing. Our Chancel Choir leads our worship in the 10:30 a.m. service through hymn singing, anthems and special music. Cantatas and special programs are presented through the year. The choir is open to senior high students through senior adults and rehearses each Sunday evening at 4:30 p.m.
ARISE CHOIR - This choir is for 9th grade youth - adults which sing contemporary Christian music. They rehearse usually two times a month or when getting ready to sing. This choir does not require as much rehearsal time as the Chancel Choir. The rehearsal times will be at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd & 4th Sundays.
CELEBRATE SENIOR ADULT CHOIR - This is for senior adults. This choir will meet once a month following the XYZ program on the third Thursday, at 2:00 p.m. This group will sing old favorite hymns and fun things. This is a very low commitment group.
SOLOISTS - We at First Cumberland are always looking for and welcome people who are willing to share their gift of song. Those who offer solos are welcomed and appreciated.
INSTRUMENTAL - Persons who are musically gifted and play instruments are encouraged to share their God given talents for worship and special occasions.
