Margaret Sarl - Adviser and Author
Margaret was a Primary school teacher for many years and specialised in teaching Reception, Year 1 and children with Special Needs. During this time she developed her love for Literacy and the teaching of reading.
Margaret has two grown-up sons who have benefited from her knowledge and experience. She enjoyed amusing them by making up her own stories: these have formed the basis of her collection of childrens stories about cats, The Cat Collection. The publication of these fulfils Margarets lifetime ambition to be a published author of children's stories.
Margaret advises Bright Starters on all matters relating to Early Years and Primary education with specific reference to Literacy. Although now retired from teaching, she spends a great deal of time with her five grandchildren who are a constant source of information and research.
Steve Pogson and Rey Lear - The Musicians
Steve Pogson and Rey Lear both live and work in Brackley, Northamptonshire. They have been involved in music projects in the area for over twenty five years, including such things as teaching, conducting, organising concerts and playing in bands.
Rey is a primary class music specialist, teaching in a number of local schools and Steve teaches a variety of instruments and is a composer. He has had many pieces published, particularly choral pieces for schools. They meet regularly at Steves studio to record childrens songs and their sense of musicianship and humour gives the songs a distinctive sound. One of their aims is to provide traditional songs but with a catchy, rhythmic beat that children (and parents!) of all ages will love.
