Erika Darden, the owner of a wedding and event planning company in the US, has created a text and image rich website that manages to be both user-friendly and attractive. In the homepage, navigation links are set in a full-width toolbar along the top, while the main content pages are promoted through large image teasers on first view. The footer is dedicated to essential contact details and glossy social media buttons. The Weddings tab has a dropdown menu which allows visitors to choose a service – from full service wedding planning and design to custom wedding ceremony order. Each of these pages is relatively text-rich, and displays its information in a visual hierarchy that helps visitors rapidly scan the text according to their needs. The Styling page incorporates text with an easy-to-update, thumbnail grid-styled portfolio with linkable images on hover to give visitors an enlarged version of each image. Erika’s blog serves an important purpose, since it not only personalizes the company, but also features tips and articles on wedding planning. Erika’s Contact page features phone numbers for each city, as well as an “Event Inquiry” button which directs visitors to a detailed order form.
