IT Solutions Re-tooling Intranet'sWith a worldwide finance department numbering thousands of employees, a fortune 500 companies intranet needed re-tooling. The solution was to integrate data and systems previously tied into dead-end access points. The companies finance department needed better tools to keep tabs on the budgets and expenditures of hardware and software teams, (on top of normal jobs like 401k's, payments, reimbursments, and other functions). For this extensive project, we implemented a custom Drupal installation behind a firewall on the companies own OS X servers. In addition, the intranet also passes information and permissions back and forth between the corporations proprietary authentication system which forms the basis for some user roles (management) and access controls (over 20 levels). And for ultimate redundancy, we devised a custom script that physically recreates the site and all data basis on a mirrored server, weekly. We still oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the project, adding new content, sections, and functionality, and are rolling out both new integrations and new permissions to additional administrations and project teams. The project spans employees in over 40 countries.
THEBLAZE.comNot many companies have worked on web properties that handled over 223 million hits during the first week of launch. Such was the case with THEBLAZE.com the conservative informational web site for the Glenn Beck brand portfolio. Never one to turn down a "toothy" challenge, we jumped on board and designed a wordpress implementation extended with numerous custom plug -ins and themes to handle such as;multiple authorslightning fast server response needswell above average security measures flexible information screens custom parsing from AP news sources (including near real-time updates)drag-and-drop front-page layout changes made by the site's editors with rotating stories and graphics call out bars and toggles (amidst heavy traffic) Immediatley following the launch, the system served 2.9 TB of data migrated across the user facing site and through a Content Delivery Network (CDN) that handled the serving of static files in addition to administration consoles (fancy talk for super fast speed). We handled the live migration of the entire site achieving a smooth flow of high volume, generated traffic. A previously choosen, highly recognized hosting provider failed to meet the incoming bandwidth needs. Installation of the site was a smashing success.

Intuit (Quickbooks) With a more than competent programming staff, Intuit still hit road blocks when devising a plan to offer custom check creation and ordering to existing users of Quickbooks. Our team was brought in to handle the internal develpment impasse and lay the programming groundwork that would preceed and preclude decisions then built upon by later Quickbook teams. Starting with the UI, our team was successful at dialing down the multitude of user scenarios into a few scalable options as possible. Then, a full prototype was built to demonstrate not only the front-end usability but also the programming means (both in the browser and on the server side) used to achieve such goals. The customer facing and programming template served as a concise one-to-one model for the exact implementation handled by Intuit teams.
