The 5k Run/Walk Course is the same for both the Triathlon and the 5k (with an exact distance of 5.02 km or 3.12 mi), but the 5k participants will start at 9:00 am while the triathletes will run it an hour or so later.
After transitioning from the bike at the HYPR Complex, the course heads north along the HYPR Soccer Fields (1) until it turns east at Balif Road (2).
The course then crosses over Wasatch Drive (3) at the KUER station (4) [Please use caution when crossing].
Passing north through the U of U Golf Course (5), it turns west at North Campus Drive (6). The course bends around the Northern Perimeter (7) of the U of U Campus until turning south on University Street (8).
Going past Presidents Circle (9), the course eventually turns east on South

Campus Drive (10). Here, the course travels between Rice-Eccles Stadium (11) and the Field House (12) before taking a quick turn north through lower campus at 1500 East (13). Passing by the Marriott Library (14) and Bookstore (15), the course continues north until looping south around the Student Center (16) and passes in front of the LNCO (17) to return to the HYPR.
