Robin arrived in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on 31 May 1995 to assist with the establishment of a small business development organisation. He wanted to start playing tennis again, and was introduced to Soussanna by her cousin, Vahe, who had been working with Robin. Robin's "I don't need someone that good," met with a telephone call from Vahe a few days later to say, "... so you might come with to the dacha; Soussan is also coming." And so Robin and Soussanna were introduced to each other in a light blue Niva. Soussanna was wearing a pair of blue denim jeans and a light blue v-neck top. At the dacha, in the not so small garden filled with fruit trees, Soussanna offered Robin an apricot! It was love at first sight! And when Soussanna took her tennis team to Cyprus in September, Robin sent her a bouquet of flowers! They became engaged on 18 November 1995 in Yerevan, and got married on 21 December 1995, the same day as Vahe's birthday. The marriage took place at Greyton, in the small Anglican Church in which Robin's parents had been married on the same day in 1957. The ceremony was conducted by two close friends of Robin's family, and Soussanna was walked down the isle by Uncle Joey, Robin's godfather. Robin and Soussanna have 2 children, Rouzanna and Andreas.

Amazing mikado - TOP BILLING MARCH 2011- Katelyn Williams, Food Editor
It's a tough life wowrking here at Top Billing - take the shoot we did for our March issue, for example. We had to spend and entire day at Andrerouz, a small confectionary business, tasteing all manner of sweet delicacies - such a horrid job but someone has to do it!
On the first day of our visit, we were met by the rich aroma of hot fudge so at once decided to leave the calorie counting at the door! Robin and Susannah, owners of Andrerouz foods welcomed us into their little factory with traditional hand ground Armenian coffee - a thick, rich brew served in small cups which we enjoyed with some of the treats the pair make on the premises. Their flagship product, and the reason we were there, is mikado.
Mikado is an authentic Armenian Delicacy consisting of nine paper-thin layers of pastry, which are rolled out by hand and then layered with a decadent Belgian chocolate cream. The result is a delicious confection, which the couple have used in a variety of their products. Watching Susannah make the pastry, I was amazed at the effort that goes into one batch of this mikado - it really is a labour love.
I'd never heard of mikado before and Susannah explained that in Armenia, it is not something that you can buy but a treat only made for special occasions such as weddibgs and birthdays and always done by hand. It is difficult to describe as the multiple pastry layers give this delight an irresistible texture - it's best you try it for yourself!
The couple sell their delicacies at various markets in Cape Town or you can call Robin on 071 372 8777.
