I strive to be a Miss Deaf International
This endeavor is quite an expensive undertaking and I would like to share with you the sponsorship opportunities in my pageant experience. I'm requesting your support and sponsorship to cover travel expenses, accommodations and materials for the Miss Deaf USA Pageant on April 17, 2010 in Washington D.C. Your Support will take me closer to my dream of running for Miss Deaf International once I win the Miss Deaf USA title. My vision is to be a leader in the International Deaf Community to promote identity and preservation of language, culture and history. My ultimate goal is to implement the Foreign Sign Language course at California State University, Northridge. This opportunity will enchance relations between Deaf, Hard -of-Hearing and Hearing students enabling them to together to serve for national and international causes.
My involvement in the Deaf community induces serving as Miss Deaf California (2001-2003), a Community Health Educator specializing in Teen Pregnancy Prevention at GLAD, acting roles with Deaf West Theatre, and teaching American Sign Language at California State University of Northridge.
My rich experiences offer a weath of leadership as the next Miss Deaf USA; a wonderful activitiy in which to achieve personal growth, female empowerment and promote not only deaf awareness but serve as a role model to deaf and hard of hearing youth.
