ABOUT THE ARTIST

The goal of my work is to spread awareness and encourage discourse. Regardless of the message, I want people to think when they view my work. Sometimes my message may be as simple as recognizing the beauty in everyday objects; other times, I share with viewers the complexities and dissonance I experience with issues such as body image, the media, and feminism.While my body of work began as straight photography, it has evolved more into mixed media. I love working with tangible objects, and often will use interactive objects in my work, to allow viewers to emotionally, mentally, and physically connect with my work.My current work focuses on mass media communication through dolls, and how this communication helps to shape girls’ and boys’ perceptions and expectations of the female body. I am also exploring how these dolls affect the consumerist mindset.CONTACT
